Despite the pandemic, the Brunei creative and fashion scene is growing at a steady rate with no indication of slowing down.
FARED is a local modest menswear brand that prioritizes distinctive design and quality without sacrificing comfort. With pieces comprising of ‘jubahs’ and ‘kurtas’ in neutral colours for men, the materials were made of pure linen and high quality cotton. Before being rebranded last year, the brand was formerly known as Far’Ed since its inception in 2014.
In conjunction with the upcoming Raya celebration, the brand released its first collection under the new brand last Saturday, 13th February in an event held at the Atrium of The Mall in Gadong.
The launching ceremony of the ‘FARED Syawal 2021’ collection was officiated by Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Alimin bin Haji Abdul Wahab, Presiden Majlis Kesejahteraan Orang Kurang Upaya (MKOKU) as guest of honour of the event. Also present were local artists and close family and friends of Farid Edros, the brand’s founder.
“I have always dreamt of rebranding Far’Ed. Covid-19 was definitely a blessing in disguise. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to realize that dream of mine last year and release a new collection after so long. I wish to offer something different to the local kurta and jubah markets.
“I do believe our choice of materials is unique and the designs are suitable for men who wish to appear stylish yet modest at the same time,” said Farid Edros.
The exclusive collection comprises of 3 kurtas and 3 jubahs with prices ranging from B$55 to B$75. The brand has already begun accepting pre-orders since Sunday, 14th February 2021 via its official Instagram account, @fefared.
